This opportunity is for a Business Intelligence Officer, 2-year term position, (anticipatory perm); temporary assignments will also be considered.
The position requires working 75 hours biweekly.

The Role:
The Information Management and Technology Branch provides support to the organization by providing Information Services (Information Technology, Information Systems, and Information Management) to the organization. The branch operates in a rapidly evolving environment with new technologies, new business systems, and demanding information requirements. As a result, working in the branch is both challenging and rewarding, as it plays a key role in the success of the entire organization.
Reporting to the Director of Information Management and Technology, the Business Intelligence Officer is responsible for guiding the development and provision of information, analysis and business intelligence capabilities to the organization. These analytics services inform core business decisions covering all aspects of WSCB business, and provide professional guidance and consultation on the implications and meaning of complex business information. This position will work closely with the organizations leadership team to develop reporting and analytical services and capabilities in support both operational and strategic information needs.
Essential Qualification:

- Masters or Bachelors degree in a data science, business or data analytics, information technology, statistics, or related field of study;
- Recent experience with analytical and reporting tools such as Power BI, SAS or Tableau;
- Proficiency in advanced functionalities of Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and visualizations;
- Proficiency in developing reports and queries with languages such as SQL, PL/SQL, SAS or similar language;
- Experience analyzing data from multiple sources of information and summarizing into reports, documents or presentations for senior management;
- Experience working with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management;
- Experience with creating and applying quality assurance methods and procedures;
- Experience with SAS Enterprise Guide would be an asset;
- Experience developing and implementing data and information management governance practices would be an asset.
Candidates who have significant experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.
