Community Nursing provides specialized programming designed to meet the unique needs of our Northern, Yukon communities. We are recognized for our commitment to excellence in the provision of rural and remote, primary and public health services throughout Yukon, including 24/7 emergency care.

Community Nursing Branch is responsible for the delivery of primary and public health care through health centres situated across the Yukon.
Your role
As a Manager of Community Nursing, you will form an integral part of our collaborative leadership team, using your unique skill-set to lead teams, empower employees in their decision making, and collaborate with leadership to meet the needs of communities in the provision of primary healthcare delivery. In your role you will provide in-person and remote leadership/coaching and supervision of staff, collaborating to understand the needs of the communities we serve and ensuring the operational requirements of the branch are met. This will include managing expenditures, identifying budgetary requirements, establishing/maintaining standards of practice, and creating/sustaining a healthy work environment.

Essential qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.
- Current registration in good standing with a Canadian registered nursing regulatory body;
- Nursing experience including rural/northern outpost, and/or advanced practice, and/or emergency nursing;
- Experience in a supervisory/managerial role including direct leadership of teams in primary care or emergency care;
- Experience monitoring and managing operational budgets expenditures;
- Demonstrated continuous learning/development in healthcare administration, leadership, or management is considered an asset.

Conditions of employment
You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.
Current Yukon Registered Nursing Association registration in good standing, RCMP clearance with vulnerable sector check; TB Clearance Valid Yukon class 5 driver’s licence or equivalent; CPR level c WHMIS 2015 (within 1 month of hire)
Job requirements
This job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following:
Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Yukon by air and road (6-10 trips/year, 3-5 days/trip). Rotational after-hours emergency coverage by phone. Potential exposure to infectious body fluids, needle stick injuries or interactions with aggressive clients while on site visits; Ability to lift up to 15 kilograms;
