This is for a full-time, TERM (anticipatory permanent) position working 75hrs bi-weekly with an end date of April 1, 2026.
Temporary assignment will also be considered.

As a member of EMR’s Mineral Resources Branch, you are part of a professional team whose objective is to advance resource planning to support the orderly development of Yukon’s natural resources in a responsible and sustainable manner. The team develops and delivers policies, strategies, programs, and legislative instruments to support integrated resource management.
Reporting to the Manager, Mineral Planning and Development, this position supervises a three-person GIS team and leads process and information management for the Mineral Resources Branch. The primary focus of this position is to ensure the team is supported, key systems-based projects advanced, and the GIS information is maintained and updated as required. This is a great opportunity to develop or use your business analyst skills, contribute to the development of a modern system that improves how mining is regulated in the Yukon and gain supervisory and/or minerals experience in a learning-oriented environment.

Essential Qualifications

- Diploma or certificate in GIS, business analysis or related field;
- Recent supervisory experience;
- Experience working in the GIS field;
- Experience analyzing and evaluating how to improve and maintain existing processes and systems;
- Experience planning and developing new systems, applications or databases;
- Experience working with other government branches, First Nation governments and industry stakeholders would be considered an asset;
- Working knowledge and application of Yukon’s mining legislation and policies would be considered an asset.
