Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Communications Analyst is a part of a team of communication professionals who provide strategic communications and public engagement advice, and related support to the Director and department staff. This position is responsible for developing and managing a broad range of communication services, including communication planning, public engagement planning, media relations, communication strategies, issues management, advertising, marketing and social media campaigns, product development, and event planning. Essential Qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet each of the following qualifications. Emphasize how your work experiences and related duties align with the essential and asset qualifications listed below. Note that selection for further consideration is based solely on the information you provide in your resume; ensure you use a month/year to month/year format in each of your positions.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in communications, public relations, marketing or journalism.
- Experience providing communications services, which may include preparing media/communications products including interviews, press releases, speaking notes, reports, webpages, social media content, and information materials.
- Experience writing for multiple audiences, with demonstrated ability to translate complex information into clear, concise messaging and apply editing standards (grammar, tone, plain language).
- Experience building and maintaining positive working relationships with multiple stakeholders, including effectively influencing and collaborating in complex or challenging situations.
- Experience providing communication support within a government setting is an asset.
Candidates who have significant experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.
