This posting will be used to fill 1 permanent full-time positions working 75 hours bi-weekly. It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.
This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon.
Your role
Working as a Family Support Worker, you will provide home-based support services to families and children. This position assists in strengthening the parent-child relationship by improving parenting skills. Collaborating with the assigned Social Worker, and family in devising a tailored case management plan.

Essential qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. - Social Worker Degree or Social Services Diploma,
- Experience working with either children, youth and\or families,
- Experience working with vulnerable populations,
- Experience assisting parents in learning problem-solving and coping skills by teaching and modeling appropriate and positive parenting and life skills.
Candidates with comparable education backgrounds may be equally considered.

Conditions of employment

- Valid Class 5 Drivers License,
- TB Screening,
- RCMP Vulnerable Sector Check,

This job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following:
- Frequent evening, weekend and statutory holiday work hours are required. Candidates are expected to average their hours across the week to accommodate these scheduling needs.
