This posting will be used to fill one (1) part-time permanent position working 56.25 hours biweekly. It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill full-time and part-time permanent, term, AOC and casual vacancies.

Your role
Continuing Care provides person-centered care to individuals who need varying levels of care and support with daily living activities. Through responsiveness to each resident’s uniqueness, long-term care staff creates a feeling of home and belonging for all who live there.
You are a clinical leader responsible for coordinating and delivering resident-centered care for individuals with complex health needs. You play a key role in supporting quality of life, maintaining dignity, and ensuring safe, evidence-informed care within a long-term care environment.
As member of the Care team, you will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, while providing guidance and support to care staff. This role requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to respond to changing resident needs, and a commitment to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.

As a Registered Nurse, your role is to:
- Provide direct nursing care to residents with complex and chronic health needs, applying trauma-informed, person-centered, and evidence-based practice standards
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support care planning and continuity of care
- Provide clinical guidance and day-to-day support to care staff, decision-making based on established scope of practice and clinical standards
- Assess, monitor and respond to changes in resident health status, initiating appropriate interventions and escalating concerns as needed.
- Engage with residents and families to support informed decision-making, provide education and foster a meaningful and professional relationship
- Promote a culture of respect, dignity, and inclusion, recognizing the diverse backgrounds and needs of residents and families

Essential qualifications

- Eligible for Registered Nurse registration with a Canadian registered nursing regulatory authority
- Recent and relevant clinical nursing experience within the Registered Nurse scope of practice, including assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care

Conditions of employment
You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.
- TB screening
- Vulnerable Sector RCMP security clearance
- CPR-C with AED
- Current registration with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association
Job requirements
This job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following:
- Shift work (days, evenings and weekends)
- Exposure to plants and/or flowers, animals, latex products, second-hand smoke from residents/clients
- Heavy lifting 50 lbs and over and bending
