We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Property Management team as an Oil Burner Mechanic. This position Installs, maintains, and repairs oil burners and related components and systems and performs minor plumbing and mechanical systems installations, repairs and maintenance ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable provision of specific heating, plumbing and mechanical services, within a wide variety of Yukon Government facilities in the Northern Region.

Essential Qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.
- Journeyman oil burner mechanic with a interprovincial Red Seal certificate
- Experience troubleshooting, installing, maintaining and repairing oil burners and related components and systems
- Basic computer skills would be an asset (Microsoft Outlook, Word, etc.)
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

The ideal candidate will possess these qualifications, skills and knowledge, but also demonstrate suitability for the role and organizational culture. Key competencies for success in this role include:
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of the oil burner trade, operation and maintenance of mechanical and HVAC systems in large buildings
- Ability to set priorities, diagnose and research solutions
- Knowledge of safe working practices, with a proactive approach to safety
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Conditions of Employment
This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following condition(s) of employment:
- Red Seal Journeyman’s Oil Burner Certificate
- RCMP Vulnerable Sector Check
- Yukon Class 5 driver’s licence.
Job Requirements

- Travel throughout the territory
- Work in adverse weather conditions
- Use personal protective equipment
