This posting is to fill one term, full-time position working 75 hours bi-weekly. It will also be used to establish a 12-month eligibility list, which may be used to fill similar positions.
The successful candidate may be required to provide administrative support to the Interprofessional Chief Nursing Officer and multiple ADMs as needed.

Our team
The Department of Health and Social Services is seeking a highly organized, professional, and discreet Administrative Assistant to support the Assistant Deputy Minister of Community and Primary Care and the Interprofessional Practice Chief Nursing Officer. This is a dynamic and fast-paced role that requires a confident individual with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of confidential and complex administrative tasks with accuracy, professionalism, and discretion. Acting as a key point of contact, you will ensure effective communication and collaboration between the ADM’s office and internal divisions of Health and Social Services, as well as with senior government officials, members of the public, stakeholders in the business community, and special interest groups.
This position requires sound judgment, excellent organizational abilities, and a high level of professionalism in supporting the strategic and operational priorities of the ADM.
Your role
This position is responsible for (and not limited to) organizing calendars, making travel arrangements, preparing communications on behalf of the ADM, coordinating casework responses, arranging logistics and more. In addition, this position is responsible for preparing agendas and taking minutes at a variety of both internal and external meetings.

Essential qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. - Completion of coursework in office administration, business administration or related field will be considered an asset.
- Recent experience providing a broad range of senior administrative support (i.e. coordinating travel, managing calendars, taking minutes, proofreading documents, performing basic research, facilitating communications, electronic and paper file/records management).
- Experience completing financial administrative tasks (i.e., establishing procurement contracts, receiving and processing invoices, travel authorization requests and claims).

This job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following:
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs; will be required to attend offsite meetings usually in Whitehorse but occasionally in rural communities; will be required to work a standard 75-hour bi-weekly schedule in-office; 85% of work will be carried out using a computer.
