Who we are
The Family and Children's Services Branch is responsible for providing a wide variety of services to the Yukon, such as Family Services, Child Protection, Placement and Support Services, Youth Justice, Early Childhood, Child Care Services, Family Supports for Children with Disabilities and Healthy Families.
Your role
The Administrative & Research Assistant is responsible for providing executive services and support to the Director of Family and Children's Services and the senior management team and managing the office of the Director by providing the provision of administrative support and providing research, project management, and issue resolution support to the Director on executive initiatives. The incumbent prepares briefings, reports, analysis and other materials for the Director and represents the Director on projects and other initiatives as delegated.

Essential qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. - Recent experience providing senior-level executive administrative support to senior leaders in a health, social services, government, or similarly complex environment.
- Experience coordinating and managing executive casework, correspondence, and responses to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accurate and timely completion of deliverables.
- Experience coordinating multiple competing priorities, managing changing deadlines, and exercising sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
- Recent experience working with highly sensitive and confidential information requiring discretion, and adherence to privacy and confidentiality requirements.
- Recent experience leading or coordinating administrative functions, including developing or implementing administrative procedures and providing training, guidance, or mentorship to administrative staff.

Conditions of employment
You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.
- RCMP Clearance with Vulnerable sector check,
- Class 5 Drivers Licence or it equivalent.
Job requirements
This job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following:
- Lift up to 22 lbs
- Possible travel within Yukon
- Exposure to emotional, physically abusive and/or dissatisfied clients
- Ability to obtain Government Notary appointment within 12 months
