Our mission is to offer customers legal access to a variety of liquor and cannabis products while considering the wellbeing and economic prosperity of the territory. The Corporation’s branches work to support Yukon’s food and beverage industry, cannabis market, and local liquor producers through a range of programs and services. We continuously evolve our business structure to improve the way we operate our Whitehorse Liquor Store, central warehouse and five rural community Liquor Stores in Dawson City, Faro, Haines Junction, Mayo, and Watson Lake. The opportunity…
The corporate services division sets the strategic direction for the Corporation and supports operations in delivering on those strategic goals and managing front line business. The finance branch also provides financial management services through a service agreement to the Yukon Lotteries Commission.
This position oversees accounting operations, budgeting, financial reporting, procurement compliance, and administrative activities for the Corporation. This position serves as the primary liaison with the Office of the Auditor General for the annual financial statement audit. This position also oversees the accounting operations, budgeting, financial reporting and financial statement audit coordination functions for the Yukon Lotteries Commission.
The Controller plays a key role in supporting sound financial management, compliance with relevant policies, and effective corporate decision-making for the Corporation and Commission.

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, commerce, or another related business discipline
- Experience leading or coordinating annual external audits, including working directly with auditors to resolve issues and interpreting accounting standards, preferably IFRS, to ensure completion of audited financial statements
- Experience evaluating and improving financial controls, policies, or business processes to strengthen governance, compliance, and financial reporting accuracy to ensure effective financial control frameworks within an organization
- Recent experience working with managers and/or senior leadership to develop, monitor, and manage operating and capital budgets, including analyzing financial impacts, identifying risks, and supporting informed decision-making
- Experience supervising staff considered an asset
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
